indoposkota.online – The Ministry of Religion will hold an Isbat Session to Determine the Beginning of Ramadan 1445 H on March 10 2024. The Isbat Session will be held at the H.M Rasjidi Auditorium of the Ministry of Religion, Jl. M.H. Thamrin, Central Jakarta.
Director General of Islamic Community Guidance (Dirjen Bimas Islam) Kamaruddin Amin said that this activity would be held in a hybrid manner, online and offline. “This Isbat session is a religious service for the community to obtain certainty regarding the implementation of worship,” explained the Director General at the Preparatory Meeting for Determining the Beginning of Ramadan in Jakarta, Monday (19/2/2024).
Director of Islamic Religious Affairs and Sharia Development (Urais Binsyar) of the Ministry of Religion, Adib added, the Isbat Session will involve the Hisab and Rukyat Team of the Ministry of Religion, and will be attended by ambassadors from friendly countries and representatives of Islamic mass organizations. This session will also involve representatives of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), and other guests.
“We also invited the leadership of the MUI and Commission VIII DPR RI to attend the session,” he said.
Adib explained that the Isbat Session would be divided into three stages. First, a presentation of the position of the new moon at the beginning of Ramadan 1445 H based on the results of reckoning (astronomical calculations). The presentation was carried out by the Ministry of Religion’s Hisab and Rukyat Team starting at 17.00 WIB. “This session is open to the public and will be broadcast live on the Bimas Islam YouTube Channel,” said Adib.
Second, the Isbat Session to Determine the Beginning of Ramadan 1445 Hijriah which was held behind closed doors after Maghrib Prayers. Apart from hisab (information) data, the isbat session will also refer to the results of rukyatulhilal (confirmation) carried out by the Ministry of Religion Team at 134 locations throughout Indonesia.
“The third stage, a press conference on the results of the isbat session which will also be broadcast via the Ministry of Religion’s social media,” he concluded.
